Often the iso leaks when it's been installed for some time and you turn it odd. I've had it pee out from the middle on a lit of occasions. What a lot of people don't seem to know is that if you keep turning it a few times you can make it reseal properly again. Somehow it puts everything back where it should be. It's not always the end of the world

interesting, i will try it next time.
also, did you know you can strip them down and put new seals in them?
looks like an impossible Chinese puzzle but they do come apart to reveal a little 'o' ring on the screw slot shaft.

Secret with any and every valve is to exercise annually.

Unf tho the cheap crap isos do just rely on a nitrile o ring. its not even epdm. this is why they should not be used on htg systems (left on). Nitrile only stands about 60 degrees so the thing literally breaks down over time and also seizes to the warm surfaces
