Fixing a triton easy fix T80 shower

Hi everyone, I’m fitting a Triton T80 shower and it says in the manual that I should use compression fittings for the mains water.
I was just wondering if a speed fit could be used instead as all my pipes are plastic and speed fit.
Cheers Tony.

Hi Tony,

should be ok if thats what you have. i done a few with speedfit but allways best to stick to triton instructions when you can using nut and olive.
The problem sometimes is the spiggott is not allways thet round in diameter IE: there could be over moldings to the joint. it might also be a little tight in the recess to fit speedfit. Also the plastic nylon might not allow enough 'bite' to stop the connector working loose.
otherwise-try it, i have the same shower.

Probably the shower is long since installed, but I would go with MIs and use a compression elbow to join to shower and a piece of copper from that to your first Speedfit fitting. That way there will be no plastic pipe to compression joints, if you wished to avoid that.
