Hi,
When we had an extension added to our house the builder installed an unvented water system using an Ariston hot water tank. Since it was my first experience of such a system it was some time before I realised the hot water pressure was very high when the tap was first turned on. On investigation, I then found the pressure in the expansion tank for the cylinder was very low. I pumped up to the recommended pressure and now experience water hammer (quite often but not always) when the tap is turned on. I suspect the builder also experienced this and eliminated the problem by reducing the expansion tank pressure. Can anyone advise the problem and solution?
Regards
