The hot tap on my bath needs to be pushed down from the top and then twisted in order to turn on or off. The fitting around the screw rotates as I twist the tap, but the screw only if I place downwards pressure on it. Is this an easy fix? Or a new tap job? Many thanks in advance.

I have tried to attach a photo but it won't let me!

hi, you need to use photo-bucket to attach photo's.

i presume its an acrylic head tap! you can get those from bnq- screwfix- or merchant called tap revivers. even alloy ones can break the splines but less regular.
the tap body and valve should be ok. and provided you can unscrew and lift the handle off, its easy.
they come with new valves.
